Fact #660: You don’t have to “pass” to be valid. You don’t have try to or even want to “pass” in order to be valid. It’s totally okay to just exist as you are.
FACT #660B: However, you DO need to at least make an effort to “pass” in order to have a valid reason to throw a fit when someone misgenders you.
Nah, people are allowed to be upset with cissexism and transphobia no matter what they look like.

Autism Awareness Month! Be aware of me. But do not touch or stare at me. Ideally, give me snacks and go away
Autistic people really need to be listened to more in public, because I feel a lot of our struggles come from the fact we live in a society that does not know how autistic people think.
We’re taught to behave more neurotypical, to overcome traits that make autism “noticeable”.
Why? Is it because they’re bad or something?
Generally, that’s not the reason. Usually, it’s just because it’s not deemed “normal” by society, or it doesn’t fit in with society’s “rules”, and that makes people uncomfortable. Stimming? That’s apparently not normal! Special interests? “You need to have a wider range of interests!” Struggle with eye contact? That apparently makes us rude!
Even mentioning autism on a job application can be risky. If it’s read by an employer who has an ableist or uneducated view on autism, that’s likely not going to end well. But if we don’t mention it, we risk lack of understanding on the job (sometimes we can mention it and still risk lack of understanding on the job).
If society listened more to what autistic people actually had to say, instead of mostly focusing on the stories of relatives of an autistic person, or all these stories on how “autism should be cured”, maybe it could make things easier for autistic people
